- My marble carving “Back to Back” was a finalist in the Art Renewal Center (ARC) International Salon Competition, Sculpture Category.
- My book ”My Life as a Street Painter in Florence, Italy” is not only available on Amazon.com in the USA [with a really wonderful review there by a Estaban Ess that I just found out about], but now can be found on Amazon in the United Kingdom, as well as AT LEAST Amazon in Italy. I am anticipating that the book is also available in other countries in Europe. How cool is that?

Gallery Visit Indianapolis
Cari Amici (Dear Friends),
Well, today’s post is another invitation. But first… a little tooting the horn of my artwork:
My pastel drawing on black paper titled "World Traveler" was a finalist in the prestigious Art Renewal Center 2010-2011 ARC Salon - Still Life Category. The ARC works to promote excellence in representational art.
“World Traveler” is one of the images that you may see at my next event. I hope you will help me start of the Labor Day weekend right by checking out “First Friday Gallery Walk” in Indianapolis. Gallery owner Don Elliott and I (at least) will be on hand Friday to personally show you the latest from my studio. I would love to see you there.
2 September 2011
6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
during the Gallery Walk
“Italian Living” Gallery Walk features pastel + charcoal artworks by Kelly Borsheim
Indianapolis, Indiana 46204
For information, please contact Don Elliott at the gallery via telephone at 317.822.8455.
In any event, stay safe and stay cool during the upcoming holiday weekend (here in the States anyway).

Art Renewal Center Salon Art Award

Cari Amici (Dear Friends),
I met my friends Henna and Naomi on the Ponte Vecchio the other night so we could walk together over to the British Institute here in Florence, Italy, to watch the film “The End of the Affair.” Henna congratulated me for becoming a semi-finalist in an art competition. I had no idea of what she was speaking. It is good to have friends to keep you posted on your own life!
Allora:
“THE ART RENEWAL CENTER is proud to present the award winners and finalists in our fifth International ARC Salon® Competition. This year we had well over 1600 entries from 30 different countries . . . . With so many quality entries, we found it necessary to add a semi-finalists tier to help narrow the field . . . ” per Fred Ross, ARC Chairman
So, out of all of this, my artwork made it to the semi-finalists:

(this page has links to the other winners too)
I entered so long ago, but I think this was the competition in which I entered the sculpture category, with the bronze “Warrior Spirit”.
So, I still have work to do! Thank you for following along on this journey with me.
And thank you, Henna!
